Searching for a job can feel like a second job: scan another list, open another posting, decide whether it fits, repeat. An AI job search assistant can take some repetitive discovery off your plate while leaving the important decisions with you.
Today we’re introducing TailorMe Personal Recruiter, a chat-based job search assistant that helps you describe the role you want, review a shortlist of opportunities, and refine your search as your priorities become clearer. You can talk in the TailorMe app or reply directly to its results emails. You choose which opportunities to pursue.
What is an AI job search assistant?
An AI job search assistant helps you find and evaluate opportunities using the goals and preferences you share. With Personal Recruiter, that means describing your next role in everyday language, reviewing proposed search requirements, and giving feedback on the jobs it finds. It is software for job seekers, rather than a human recruiter representing an employer.
A saved job alert starts with a query and filters. Personal Recruiter adds a conversation: you can explain why a seemingly relevant role misses the mark, describe a trade-off, or ask about a particular job. “Remote product manager” is a starting point. “I want to own a product, and I’m open to hybrid in Toronto if the role involves customer research” tells it much more about what you want.
Start with the work and life you want
Start with what kind of work you want, where you can work, and what matters in your next move. For example:
I’m looking for a medical research role in Boston or remote in the US. I’d like more time on study design and less travel. A university or small biotech could both work.
Then add the details that change what “a good fit” means to you: seniority, team size, industries, compensation needs, work arrangement, or deal-breakers. You can ask questions and revise the description in conversation. When the recruiter proposes search requirements, review them and confirm the ones you want. Proposed preferences do not silently become confirmed requirements.

Review a shortlist of relevant opportunities
When discovery is available for your account and your search is actively enrolled, Personal Recruiter can look for roles within your confirmed requirements. Search activity gives you context about the process. If a reviewed shortlist is available, you can see the roles together and decide what deserves a closer look. A search run can also find no suitable, verified postings; daily matches are not guaranteed.
For each role, open the employer posting and check the responsibilities, location, work arrangement, salary information when provided, and whether the position is still open. A listing can look promising in a summary and turn out to be wrong once you read the source.

Give feedback that makes the next search more useful
Your feedback can be specific: “This one is too senior,” “More roles with clinical study ownership,” or “I’d consider hybrid if it’s near Cambridge.” In the app, discuss a job and record whether it is worth pursuing, with an optional reason or note. Feedback can inform future search refinement; a vote by itself does not rewrite your requirements. Review and confirm any proposed broader change.
The most useful feedback explains the difference between a near miss and a good fit. Instead of “not relevant,” try “I like the research focus, but this role requires weekly travel.” Instead of rejecting an entire industry, explain which responsibilities you want more of. That gives the recruiter something concrete to use in the next search.

Keep the conversation going by email
If you receive a recruiter results email, you can reply from the email address on your TailorMe account. Say what matched, what missed, or what has changed. If the reply needs review, you can check and confirm it in the app. Your workspace brings chat, search activity, and email replies together, so you can pick up where you left off.
For example: “The university role is closest, but I’m open to biotech if the team has a strong research focus. Please skip anything requiring weekly travel.” That gives the search direction while keeping a hard boundary clear for your review.
Choose a schedule that suits your search
For an eligible, actively enrolled search, you can discuss the discovery time and timezone in chat, review the proposed schedule, and pause or resume when your circumstances change. Your workspace shows whether a search is enrolled, paused, expired, or waiting for clarification. A TailorMe subscription alone does not turn on scheduled discovery, and changing a schedule does not create or renew enrollment.
Personal Recruiter supports searches in the United States and Canada. Describe cities, remote or hybrid preferences, and acceptable alternatives; review the proposed country and location requirements before confirming. Email delivery also depends on eligibility, enrollment, and a reviewed shortlist being available. No suitable results can mean no email that day.
Go from a match to an application on your terms
Personal Recruiter includes up to 3 jobs per day on Plus and up to 100 on Pro. Pro also includes Smart Apply, which requires your explicit consent before submitting applications. When a role looks promising, open the employer’s posting, verify it, and decide what to do next. You can then use TailorMe’s resume tailoring workflow to adapt your resume to the role. Read the result, make any corrections, and submit the application yourself.
To make that next step easier, keep a Master Resume with your full work history, skills, and achievements. When you find a role worth pursuing, you can draw on that record to highlight the experience that matters to the employer.

Pro includes Smart Apply. You must explicitly authorize each application or enable automatic applications after confirming your details. You can turn automatic applications off anytime. Plus does not include Smart Apply.
Will I get new jobs every morning?
Not necessarily. An active enrolled search can run on its confirmed schedule, but a run may find no suitable, verified postings. Matches and interviews are not guaranteed.
