It's the end of a long day. You've found a job you like, and you're ready to apply. You upload your resume, then the form asks you to type your work history all over again. Your name. Your email. The same details you entered yesterday, on a different website.

By the time you're done, the evening has gotten away from you. And there's another application waiting.

We built Smart Apply because that part of a job search gets old quickly. TailorMe's new AI job application assistant works with Personal Recruiter to find matching roles, prepare tailored resumes, and submit supported applications after you've enabled it. Your search can keep moving while you get on with your day.

A job search that doesn't take over your day

Personal Recruiter already helps with the hours spent scrolling through listings. You tell it what you're looking for, confirm your search requirements, and give it feedback on the roles it finds.

Smart Apply takes that further. With automatic applications enabled, matching roles can move from a job posting to a tailored resume to an employer application. You don't have to make time for every upload and repeated form field yourself.

That might mean eating lunch away from your laptop. Going for the walk you've been putting off. Spending your evening with your family, or simply closing the tabs and being done for the day.

A job search has enough uncertainty without also swallowing every free hour. Smart Apply is our way of giving some of that room back.

Your experience goes with every application

Putting your search on autopilot shouldn't mean sending the same generic resume everywhere.

TailorMe starts with your Master Resume, the record of your experience, skills, and achievements. It prepares a resume for the particular role, drawing on the work that's relevant to that employer. Smart Apply uses that tailored PDF for the application.

A good starting point makes a difference. Keep your experience up to date, answer any resume coaching questions, and check how TailorMe presents your work. If you'd like a closer look at that process, our resume tailoring guide walks through it.

You can spend your attention on the experience you want employers to see, instead of remembering which file to upload next.

You decide when to switch it on

Automatic Smart Apply is optional. Confirm your applicant details, read the policy, and turn it on in your account preferences or Personal Recruiter settings. You can turn it off there whenever you want.

Prefer to pick each job yourself? Use Apply for me on an individual role. You can preview its tailored resume and check your details before authorizing that application.

And when an employer asks for something you haven't confirmed, Smart Apply pauses for you. A missing answer, sign-in, or security check can need your attention. It won't guess an applicant fact just to finish a form.

You can check the application result in TailorMe. If employer receipt couldn't be confirmed, you'll see that too, so you can check before applying again.

A few things to know

Who can use Smart Apply?

Smart Apply is a Pro feature. Submission must be enabled for your account, and the employer form must be supported. You can check availability in your application dialog and compare the current plans.

Does upgrading turn on automatic applications?

No. You choose whether to enable automatic applications, or authorize one application at a time.

Will it apply to every role Personal Recruiter finds?

Automatic applications are for eligible reviewed matches within your confirmed search requirements. Some applications need your help or must be completed directly on the employer's website.

Leave room for the rest of your life

Looking for your next role is important. So is having a life while you look.

Tell Personal Recruiter what you want, get your resume and application details ready, and choose how much of the routine you'd like Smart Apply to handle. Then give yourself permission to step away from the forms.
